For the first time ever, Yamaha India has crossed 1 lakh sales mark in a single month registering a total of 1,01,153 (including exports) units in September 2016. It goes without saying that this is certainly a huge milestone tasted by the Japanese brand since its birth in India.
Splitting the sales numbers as per the domestic and the foreign dispatches, the company stands at 89,423 quantities for the former while 11,730 for the latter. Comparing the figures from 2015, there’s a registered growth of 33 per cent as Yamaha has sold out 67,267 units in the same month last year.
In the first six months of the financial year, the cumulative sales stood at 4,23,413 units. These figures have been secured in the home itself. With a view to representing a cogent comparison, we have taken Suzuki, which is more or less relative. The other company has dispatched 1.23 lakh units till August. Besides, Royal Enfield, in spite of having high-cost products, come to an end against Yamaha. Till H1, RE has sold 3.07 lakh units in the country.
Thanks to the Saluto and the fresh entry-level Saluto RX, the sales of Yamaha’s 125cc segment has been enhancing. They are trying to focus more on the Scooter genre from the last couple of years by paying dividends, wherein Fascino has grabbed a good market with new Ray ZR is anticipated to acquire the momentum as well.

To aid Yamaha, their new R&D facility will certainly take a stand for them in order to achieve the targets. Apart from low-cost models for the Indian segment, the planning has also been going on to work on international products as well.
