A smaller version of the bike based on the naked streetfighter Yamaha MT-03 has been speculatively rendered by a Vietnamese media house. The speculated semi-faired motorcycle of the giant will be the entry level bike and be pronounced as new Tracer 300.

Apparently, the designing and body detailing of the Yamaha Tracer 300 seems shared from the upper sibling of the stable. A tall windshield, twin headlamp setup and the aerodynamic front fairing improves the touring capabilities of the motorcycle. The bike components like raised handlebars, split stepped seat and the sculpted knee recess on the fuel tank offers dynamic and comfortable riding position to the rider. More than half of the components of the tourer seems borrowed from the MT-03 as the rear section, suspension setup, brakes and the exhaust unit.
The Tracer 300 gets the same 321 cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine from its streetfighter MT-03. And will return the power of 35bhp and torque of 22Nm. The engine is in corporation with a six speed transmission to transfer the power to the rear wheel via chain drive. The aerodynamic front fairing of the Yamaha Tracer 300 will support in achieving top speed and better performance than MT-03.

Till now, no indications has been given by the Japanese giant that the launch of bike will take place in India or not. This appealing tourer is an an ideal motorcycle due to its raised suspension and better ground clearance which really perfom well on the indian road conditions. One negative is in the Tracer 300 is, it does not have off-road capabilities.Though it won’t have the off-road capabilities of a full-fledged adventure bike, we can expect it to be an ideal motorcycle for Indian road conditions, thanks to the raised suspension and better ground clearance.
