An entry-level sportbike from the Japanese brand’s R family in several International markets. The Yamaha YZF-R125 has showcased at the imminent 2018 INTERMOT motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany. The motorcycle that is a decade old in the markets received a comprehensive cosmetic update in 2014.
The 2019 R125 iteration comes with the same design language of the predecessor-inspired from the R1 superbike, a sleek LED headlamp with sharp styling. Besides, the model seeks the addition of Valve Variation Actuation (VVA) as a noticeable change, being offered with the Yamaha R15 V3.0 in our country. In the automotive industry, the VVA is recognized for endowing a good low-and mid-range performance without affecting its top-end delivery. Also, the ride in city traffic conditions will be easier without gear shifting stress.

The liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor, paired to a 6-speed gearbox, is claimed to develop 14.7hp and transmit 12.4Nm to the rear wheel via a slipper clutch.
The underpinnings of the new R125 are also revived to enhance handling dynamics. The Deltabox chassis has been revised with the addition of a shorter and lighter aluminium swingarm. While, the braking and suspension on the motorcycle with a wider 140/70-17 rear tyre, is under consideration of shared mechanicals from the outgoing model.
