Sony A7R III Full Frame Mirrorless Camera Launched in India


Sony launched its premium A7R III full-frame mirrorless camera in India which was earlier launched in New York. The Sony A7R III full-frame mirrorless camera is the newer version of Sony A7R II full-frame mirrorless camera which was launched in 2015. The price of Sony A7R III body is INR 2,64,990 and the price of Sony A7R III lens, SEL24105G is INR 1,09,990. The Sony A7R III body will go on sale on November 24 while the lens will be available on November 20.

The newer Sony A7R III is better than its previous counterpart as it providers better and speedy burst shooting and enhanced autofocus performance with body size same as Sony A7R II. Now coming to the specification of Sony A7R III, it is fitted with 42.2-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor with a front faced LSI which is tuned to double the red out the speed of the sensor. The Sony A7R III also comes with new BIONZ X image processor which is overall 1.8 times faster than its previous version A7R II. From the given processor, the camera is able to catch double the burst shooting speed at the rate of 10fps with complete autofocus while using electronic shutter or the mechanical shutter.

The camera allows to shoot up to 76 compressed RAW images or else 28 uncompressed RAW images in burst mode. The ISO is also revamped from ISO 25600 to ISO 32000 while the Autofocus speeds have got some betterment, now offering accurate focusing in low light up to -3 EV. Also, the Sony A7R III includes 399 phase detection autofocus points covering over 68 percent of the image area, and 425 contrast detection AF points. The camera also has 5-axis image stabilisation in the body offering 5.5 step shutter speed plus point. The Sony A7R III comes with a software "Imaging Edge" for the pre and post processing work similar to live-view PC remote shooting and RAW development.

Various other features in the Sony A7R III are higher resolution OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF), dual SD card slots (for UHS-II and UHS-I cards) and USB Type-C (USB 3.1, Gen1) port. It also includes a joystick for navigation and moving focus points, a 3-inch touchscreen for touch focus and an ‘AF On’ button. The camera is able to shoot 4K videos by engaging full resolution of the sensor in Super 35mm format. It also has High framerate shooting at 1080p 120fps.
