HP is Breaking into Two Companies, The Wall Street Journal Reported

The big news is spreading in the tech world for American conglomerate Hewlett-Packard Co. splitting into two. Yes, one of the biggest companies in computer world has decided to break its unit into two separate companies. The 75 years old HP is going to merge its Computer and Printer business in one and the enterprise hardware and services business in other. The Wall Street Journal had reported about this on Sunday. However, the Company itself has not spoken about its partition, but it is expected that it will soon be announced by the company officials on Monday.

Around 300,000 employees are currently working in the Company and around $112 billion revenue is expected to generate by the pioneer in this fiscal year. It is also reported that current HP CEO Meg Whitman would become the CEO of Enterprise Company and will hold the position of Chairperson in PC and printer business.

On the other side, it is also reported that Patricia Russo, HP lead independent director will become the chairman of Enterprise Company. It is said that Dion Weisler would be holding the position of CEO in PC and Printer Company. He is currently an executive in that division.

It is also reported that HP is in merger talks with storage and cloud-computing firm EMC for online services. Daniel Ernst, Hudson Square Research analyst said, "I wonder what would have changed in the board's thinking that previously they thought they needed computers together with services to properly serve large enterprises to now."
