Micromax on Thursday has knocked everyone down with a feather by making entry in a complete new fray. The homegrown tech giant has brought Canvas Laptab as a bolt from the blue. No one did expect that a company of mobile and tablet devices will begin a new start by appearing in a new segment.
As teased by the major in an invite and a teaser, the company has finally pulled off the curtain from a surprise which is a hybrid tablet device with decent specs at Rs. 14,999. With the launch of this device, the domestic tech juggernaut has been marked its name in the Laptop business.
Micromax Canvas Laptab, the name perfectly delineates its characteristic. You can use it as a tablet and laptop as per your requirement. If you are tech-o-holic, then you will definitely hear about the same device one year back. Yes, the company had exhibited a hybrid tablet with the same name which was introduced as a dual-boot tablet because of its Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and Windows 8 support. Company said that time to bring this device in market soon, but it didn’t happen. And now, the tech giant has brought a new one with the same name, though it runs on Windows 8.1 OS. This Laptab has introduced for students and business professionals as company claims.
Company claims that it can be upgradable to Windows 10 OS later. As speculated earlier, the company has equipped the Canvas Laptab with Intel’s Atom Z3735F 1.33GHz quad-core processor for benign performance. 2GB of DDR3L RAM is also there to give a humble support to performance with seamless multitasking capability.
It flaunts a 10.1-inch IPS display that provides WXGA (1280x800 pixels) screen resolution. It is packed with 32GB built-in storage which can further be expandable via microSD card. Company is also offering free 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage on the purchase of this hybrid. It is backed by a 7,700mAh battery which acts like a powerhouse for the product with capability to go for upto 10 hours.
Let’s move to the camera section, a 2-megapixel snapper on rear and front panel offers okay imaging experience. On the other side, single SIM slot for 3G data connectivity is also on-board to give you great mobile connectivity experience. Micromax will start selling the Laptab exclusively via Amazon India from May 6.
