Microsoft has buzzed the world in hassle by ending the support to its 12 years old Windows XP from next month. Microsoft has announced to stop supporting Windows XP from April 8, 2014. It may increase security risk and ATMs may face security flaw, as 95% of ATMs in India are operating on Windows XP.

All the subscribers of XP, from professional to individual, need to be upgraded from XP to another new version before 8th April due to lack of technical assistance from Microsoft. If the estimate is being taken then results shows that around 4 millions enterprises of India are working on XP and need to migrate.

As Microsoft will pull off its leg from Windows XP support and updates; jumble of viruses, malwares and hackers will increase and may crash or harm the data. MS stated in a statement, "Microsoft has provided support for Windows XP for the past 12 years. But now the time has come for us, along with our hardware and software partners, to invest our resources toward supporting more recent technologies so that we can continue to deliver great new experiences."

If anyone uses XP after April 8, then their computer will still operate on the old version but it's not guaranteed that your system will work without viruses and malware.

What to do for Migrating your Computer from Windows XP?

Everyone just needs to upgrade old Windows with new one or buy a new Windows. "Not many computers will be able to run Windows 8.1, which is the latest version of Windows. You can check if your system is compatible for the latest OS with the help of Windows Upgrade Assistant. If your current PC can't run Windows 8.1, it might be time to consider shopping for a new one," Microsoft stated.

For migrating from old to new Operating System without losing data and without obstructing any commercial process; the strategy should be executed in well phased and well planned manner. According to IDC, it could cost $ 300 per year for one computer.

Microsoft promotional strategy for Windows 8

Microsoft is offering $ 100 discount on new purchase of computers which will have Windows 8 operating system.  When the Windows XP support will get stopped, then MS will bring this offer on the purchase of new computer which will cost around $ 699 (online purchasing only) and also providing 90 daystechnical support and utility to migrate your previous files free of cost.
