When it comes to mp3 players, there are very few names that strike our mind and Sony is definitely one of them. Sony has been known to produce above average products and has been in the list of top audio-players from a quite of time. Another such product by the company dubbed as Sony Walkman too entered iconic status long ago and still continues to be the company's primary branding for its range of portable players.
Sony in the last year CES 2015 launched the Walkman ZX2 priced at $1,120. It had a memory capacity of 128GB with the option to expand its storage capacity using a MicroSD card and runs on an outdated version of Android OS. However, to keep its market value ongoing, Sony brought forward Walkman A26, which in design standards looks identical to its predecessor Walkman A17(priced at $300). However, the company made no official declaration about the price range for its new product,
One must not forget that the original Walkman was a portable audio cassette player, but newer Walkman products are all digital audio players. The next generation also called the latest generation of Walkman players has the ability to support the latest trend of high-resolution music ongoing in the audio world.
The new Walkman A26 offers six color variants: Grey, Blue, Red, White, Purple, and Lime Green and are further equipped with Digital noise-cancelling earphones that too come in matching colours as of the Walkman.
On the design fronts, it features a basic user interface as it has its physical buttons at the front side for easy navigation and control of the device. It sports 32GB of internal capacity that can be expanded to 128GB using a MicroSD card. Additionally, it supports different audio formats like Wav, mp3, FLAC, AIFF etc. and comes with Bluetooth and NFC ability that makes it easier for the users since they are able to use the Walkman A26 with portable speakers, home audio systems and even with wireless headphones. The company promises that its new product offers 30 hours of battery life when a user listens to high-resolution formats which further increases to 50 hours in case of compressed formats like mp3.
