Intel India Collaborated With DST For Digital India Challenge 2.0

For its initiative to make the country completely digitalized, Intel India put a step ahead and get collaborated with Department of Science and Technology (DST) on past Thursday and initiated a campaign dubbed as “Digital India Challenge 2.0”.

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeITY) and Hyderabad-based T-Hub based foundation along with MyGov presented the challenge for innovators and makers across India to built solutions for making digitization and commercially developing their prototypes on Intel designs.

K.T. Rama Rao, Telangana Information and Technology Minister said, “It is heartening to see public-private collaborations, such as the one between Intel India, MeITY, MyGov and T-Hub, driven towards building a long-term innovation culture in the nation.”

The challenge will roll out in five phases this year, the final phase will take place in April 2017.An amount of Rs 3 lakh will be offered to the shortlisted teams for creating products based on Intel Architecture in an accelerator program at T-Hub incubator in Hyderabad.

The winning team will be provided an amount of 20 lakh for further project development.

Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO, MyGov said, “Last year, there were six ideas under the challenge that completed the mind-to-market journey, and are already making their solutions available in the Indian health care and agriculture sectors”

The main initiative of Intel India aims directly to the innovations on latest technology basically for the development of students, entrepreneurs, and innovators of the country.

Debjani Ghosh, Managing Director and Vice-President (Sales & Marketing), Intel South Asia said, “Innovation is the key ingredient for making the Digital India vision a reality, and we need a local, sustainable innovation ecosystem, to address the country's challenges.Through strong public-private collaboration, wherein MeITY, MyGov, T-Hub, and Intel India are working together to turn ideas to solutions, disruptive yet sustainable technology innovations are now a reality”

Intel is also working for the establishment of Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs) for “Mini Makers” in collaboration with Niti Aayog in 10 schools across the country.
