Balu Mahendra (Balanathan Benjamin Mahendran), a virtuoso film director passed away this morning. He was admitted at Vijaya Hospital today in Chennai. Doctors said that he was in critical condition. He was suffering from some chest pain. 74 years old filmmaker left his marvelous mark on Indian film industry.
He was also a cinematographer, editor and screenwriter. The body of the noted director will be placed at his film school in Dasarathapuram, Saligramam for his fans.
Balu Mahendra won three Filmfare awards and 2 national awards for Cinematography. He showed his contribution in various films for several industries such as Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi.
