Anil Ambani propelled Reliance group on Tuesday making an announcement that the company will now work with Cisco Jasper, in order to bring out its new venture known as ‘UNLIMIT’. By this the company is willing to provide Internet of Things (IoT) services to the customers across the country.
Amitabh JhunJhunwala, Group Managing Director, Reliance Group said, “The outlook for IoT services in India is virtually UNLIMITed, with the number of connected devices projected to rise from 200 million today to around 3 billion by 2020, and revenues set to increase from $5.6 billion today to USD 15 billion in 2020.”
IoT will feature a group or collection of microprocessor or sensor-fitted gadgets, which will be used for machine-to-machine communication and exchange of data and information to perform specific actions. This will include smart buildings, vehicle to vehicle communication, smart vending machines and many more. This step of the company can be proved to be a panacea for the development of country.
Reliance Group said, “Reliable connectivity and the ability to easily manage the multitude of connected services involved in smart cities are two key requirements to ensure the success of the Digital India initiative.” the company further added that the collaboration of Reliance and Cisco Jasper will provide wide-range of offers for smart city initiatives across the country.
Cisco is going to partner with almost 30 mobile operator groups, which have over 120 mobile networks worldwide, after this it will be very easy for Indian industries to expand their empire across the whole world. The companies using Cisco Jasper as their connectivity platform outside India, will now use Reliance as their connectivity partner in India.
New engineers are also getting hired by Cisco for its new development center in Bangalore. Apart from this, Tata group of India has also signed a contract to work together with Microsoft Ventures, General Electric Ventures and other ventures to build up IoT incubator in Israel.
