Day by day Facebook is introducing new apps and adding up new features. Yesterday this Social site announces that they are going to add a new feature that will recognize the songs you are listening to and TV Shows and then it will add it to your status.

Previous year Facebook featured some new buttons in the update status box through which you can post your feelings using emoticons. You can also add the things what are you doing like, traveling to Florida, listening Rihanna's track, reading Dan Brown's novel or it could be anything. Facebook observed that there are 5 billion of this kind of status created after the feature launched.

This feature of recognizing music tracks will be available for U.S. facebook users for now and this latest version of facebook will work for iOS and android smartphones or tablets. Facebook also says that this feature could be turned off and it will not be going to store any tracks or TV shows. It will listen to the track while updating the status only. The best hope is only that Facebook will find the music track while updating status and the user can post it on their profile.

Facebook audio recognition feature

If Facebook recognizes a TV show or movie or a music track, it will add a coinciding link to your status or it will show up a preview about the music app we've newly used.

Facebook claims that, "We can't identify background noise and conversation, Sounds are only used to find a match and are never stored."

Here Facebook's audio recognition feature is designed to update our friends about what we are listening to or watching in a simpler manner. Facebook is not competing with "Shazam" or "Soundhound".
