The rumours have now turned true, Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant has launched the Black Shark Helo aka (Black Shark 2) in the home country, China on 23rd October. Black Shark Helo is the successor of Black Shark that was launched in April 2018 but never unveiled in the Indian market.
The Black Shark helo will compete against the likes of Razer Phone 2 that was unveiled in the previous month. One must note that the successor of Black Shark has been launched in three storage configuration and a bigger screen.
Currently, the smartphone will be available for purchase particularly in its home country, China. As of now, there is no information when Xiaomi would unveil Black Shark Helo globally.
The Black Shark 2 comes with a new liquid cooling technology coupled with double heat partition which protects the device from overheating. The company claims that the X+1 antenna is available in the gaming smartphone which provides better connectivity.
The attractions of Black Shark Helo are a larger 6.01-inch screen display, Qualcomm Snapdragon Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 10GB of RAM, independent image processing chip and so on.
Xiaomi has also launched the controller dock for Black Shark 2 which termed as Black Shark Biplane Handle. The controller dock has a joystick and other buttons which lets the users connect with the device.
The users will get a Biplane Handle on the left side on 6GB and 8GB RAM models, while the 10GB RAM variant has one on both the front and rear side.
In China, the Xiaomi Black Shark Helo comes with a starting price of CNY 3,199 approximately Rs. 34,100 for base 6GB RAM/ 128GB ROM while, 8GB/128GB ROM variant costs CNY 3,499 which roughly translates to Rs 37,000.
Last but not least, the premium 10GB RAM and 256GB internal storage has been priced at CNY 4199 which roughly converts into Rs. 44,500. All these variants are made available only in Black color options. Interested buyers can pre-order the Black Shark Helo from Xiaomi China website, whereas the deliveries will start from October 30.
The Black Shark Helo features a larger 6.01-inch display which offers 18:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution, 402 ppi pixels density and 101.3 percent DCI-P3 color gamut ratio.
From the hardware front, the smartphone gets Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with Adreno 630 GPU. It is available in 6GB/ 8GB/10 GB RAM and 128GB/ 256GB internal storage configuration.
For photography, the Black Shark 2 comes with dual cameras on the rear panel consisting of a 12MP primary sensor and a 20MP secondary sensor, each of them having an aperture of f/1.75 and accompanied by an LED flash.
For selfies and video calling, it gets a 20MP front-facing camera with an aperture lens of f/2.2. It must be noted that the camera specifications of Black Shark 2 and Black Shark are identical to each other.
The Black Shark Helo is powered by a 4000mAh battery bundled with Quick Charge 3.0 Technology along with fast- charging support. The gaming smartphone has G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, AGPS, Glonass, aptX and aptX HD support as connectivity options.
It has been equipped with an ambient light sensor, geomagnetic sensor, gravity sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. The dimensions of the smartphone are 160x75.25x8.7mm and weight is 190 grams.
