Blackberry Priv Is Set to Launch in India on January 28

Finally, the much awaited Android powered smartphone by the Blackberry is over. The Canadian smartphone manufacturing Firm is all set to launch Blackberry Priv smartphone in the Indian market. The company has sent out its its invites for the launch of its Android smartphone to be scheduled on January 28 in New Delhi.

The first ever Blackberry's Android smartphone went for pre orders in India and for sale in US and Canada in November last year. The smartphone was priced at $699 in the US (roughly Rs. 47,300).

To recall the features, the Blackberry flaunts a 5.4-inch QHD AMOLED display with a resolution of (1440*2560 pixels). It is offering a pixel density of 540ppi and is operated on Android 5.1 Lollipop based operating system. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor (1.8GHz dual-core Cortex-A57, and 1.44GHz quad-core Cortex-A53) clubbed with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 418 GPU.

For the storage end, the device is enhanced with 32GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card slot expansion. It is loaded with 18 megapixel camera at the rear end with optical image stablisation, phase Detaction Auto-Focus (PDAF) and dual LED flash light with the capability of 4K video recording. The handset offers 2 megapixel camera at the front end for selfies with HD video recording on board.

As for the connectivity, the Android Priv includes 4G LTE (with the US variant only showing support for India's FDD-LTE Band 3), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with Direct functionality, Bluetooth 4.1, 3.5mm audio jack, Micro-USB, NFC, and GPS/ A-GPS. The smartphone houses an an accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, time of flight (ToF) sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, altimeter, and activity monitor. It is backed by a 3410 mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 22.5 hours of overall usage.
