Coolpad, the Chinese smartphone manufacturing firm has announced to offer its Coolpad Note 5 and Note 5 Lite smartphones with a price tag of Rs 9,999 and Rs 6,999 respectively, at the second edition of Amazon Great India Sale, starting from Thursday, May 11. As a recall, the Coolpad Note 5 was launched last year in the country with a price tag of Rs 10,999, whereas the Coolpad Note 5 Lite was unveiled earlier this year in the country priced at Rs 8,199. The discount offers on the smartphones will only be available during the length of sale, i.e. from May 11-14.
Syed Tajuddin, CEO, Coolpad India, quoted in the company’s release that, “India is among the top performing markets for Coolpad where we have received a tremendous response for Note series. Both Note 5 and Note 5 Lite were the most popular choice for smartphone buyers on the Amazon platform. The response we have got from our consumer over the years with every launch has been overwhelming and we are positive to get a similar response during The Amazon Great India Sale which is scheduled for 11th - 14th May 2017.”
Concerning the specifications, the metal-unibody Coolpad Note 5 is blessed with a 5.5-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, 2.5D Curved Glass protection and 401ppi of pixel density. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 SoC paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 4GB RAM. It runs Cool UI 8.0, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs 32GB of inbuilt memory space, which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.
In term of optics, the Dual-SIM smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and an 8-megapixel front camera along with its own LED flash module and a ‘smart beautification feature’. It also packs a fingerprint scanner at the rear panel, which is believed to unlock the handset in just 0.5 seconds. Moreover, the smartphone also support gesture shortcuts along with a support for both left and right-hand input. According to the company, the smartphone supports all 4G bands in India, with 4G VoLTE support as well.
Coming next to the Coolpad Note 5 Lite, the Android smartphone packs a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, 294 ppi of pixel density and a 70.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735CP SoC paired with 3GB of RAM and Mali 720 GPU. It runs Cool UI 8.0, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and packs 16GB of inbuilt memory space, which can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.
In term of optics, the GSM smartphone is blessed with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash and an 8-megapixel front shooter with LED flash. It is powered by a 2500mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor at the rear panel and USB OTG support. Connectivity options on the board include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, 3.5mm audio jack, and Micro-USB. Sensor part of the device includes an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.
