Essential Products, the makers of the Essential Phone, on Friday announced the launch of new variant of smartphone - Halo Gray with built-in Alexa(Amazon’s virtual personal assistant) that cost less. Earlier this week, Essential Phone got three new colour variants- Ocean Depths, Copper Black, and Stellar Gray.
"In case three new Essential Phone colours weren\'t enough, today we\'re unveiling Halo Gray, the first Essential Phone to come with Alexa built-in. Halo Gray is available for pre-order exclusively from Amazon starting today," the company announced on Twitter.
The handset sports a 5.7-inch edge-to-edge QHD display with the resolution of 1312 x 2560 pixels along with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection and 19:10 aspect ratio. The device is powered by an octa-core (2.45GHz Quad + 1.9GHz Quad) Snapdragon 835 chipset with Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB RAM. The device offers 128GB of internal storage option.

For the camera optics, the handset equipped with a 13 Megapixel dual camera setup at the rear with RGB and monochrome lens long with hybrid autofocus, phase detection, IR Laser Assist Focus and 4K video support. On the front, the handset sports an 8MP selfie sensor with f/2.2 aperture, 16:9 aspect ratio, and 4K video support as well. The device is backed by a 3040 mAh battery with fast charging support. As for the connectivity options, the phone includes Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, 4G LTE, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C port, Nano-SIM support, and GLONASS. The dimensions of the device are at 141.5x72.2x7.8mm, and weighs less than 185 grams.
As detailed by Essential, the new Halo Gray variant is now available for pre-order via Amazon and is scheduled to go on sale starting February 21. While the new color variants- Copper Black, Ocean Depths, and Stellar Gray - all cost at Rs. 38,500, and the new Halo Gray version with Amazon Alexa built-in is being sold at just Rs. 28,900. The older colour variants, Pure White and Black Moon, on the Essential Products site both cost at Rs. 32,100, but Amazon has listed them at Rs. 28,900.
