Gione has launched its slimmest smartphone Elife S5.5 in the Indian Market. Gionee is the growing brand, giving tough competition to the domestic market of India. The 13 years old Chinese company has opened up its world's thinnest mobile phone in India which will be available in retail stores from April 27, 2014.

It is named ELIFE S5.5 because of its 5.55mm thin body. The phone will be priced at Rs 22,999 for Indians. It was unveiled on 18th March in China and made his entry in India on 31st March. Company claimed its phone as "best engineered product."

The smartphone was introduced in an event which was held in Goa. "Gionee expects to reach a target of Rs 2,500 crore by the year end, with a turnover of Rs 125 crore per month. We are also looking at becoming the number 6 player in India, with India sales of 6 million smartphones out of the 35 million global sales target by end-2014 from 15 models," Gionee India head, Arvind Vohra said. He also added, "We have also set a target to increase our current India market share from 2% to 5% by the year end. To achieve this we will be spending Rs 150 crore on branding and marketing. We believe we will even beat Samsung to become the number one smartphone player in Rajasthan by June 30."

First attractive thing to notice in Gionee Elife S5.5 is its attractive design. It leaves a very good impression through its pretty design. The phone's Gorilla glass display and magnesium alloy chassis at the back side, made the device very smart. Gionee has differentiated the device by placing USB charging port at the bottom and set the 3.5MM jack at the top. The smartphone has AMOLED screen which is very thin. The phone is weighed 130 grams. The phone uses thinnest PCB board. It also has 0.6MM and 0.4MM rear glass cover.

The phone is accompanied with 2300mAh Non-removable Battery and features 5 inch AMOLED display. It is powered with Octa-Core 1.7GHz processor. The main thing to notice is that, phone supports only single SIM. The device is packed with 2GB RAM and 16GB in-built storage.

Gionee has showed their best, by using AMIGO UI which made the interface very attractive. It uses the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Operating System but Company may update it later. The smartphone is also equipped with 13 megapixel Auto focus rear camera along with 5 megapixel front facing camera which has ultra wide angle. The phone also features 'Fake Call' mode through which user can counterfeit anyone to assign any number in this mode.

By introducing this phone Chinese company Gionee caught nerves of Indian market and will compete with all domestic brands.
