Honor 20i Officially Launched In China With Triple Rear Camera Setup, Dewdrop Notch

Huawei sub-brand- Honor has finally launched the first smartphone of the new Honor 20 series. The first smartphone in this series is the Honor 20i. Key highlights of the Honor 20i is the triple back camera setup and dewdrop-shaped display notch that houses a selfie camera. Price and availability of the Honor 20i

Price

The Honor 20i is available in four variants in terms of RAM and internal storage. Given below are the costs of the different Honor 20i smartphone variants in China-

>Honor 20i with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage costs CNY 1,599 i.e. roughly Rs. 16,600.
>Honor 20i with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage carries a price tag of CNY 1,599 i.e. roughly Rs. 16,600.
>Honor 20i with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory comes with a price sticker of CNY 1,899 i.e. roughly Rs. 19,700.
>Honor 20i with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage carries a price sticker of CNY 2,199 i.e. roughly Rs. 22,800.
>Honor 20i AAPE Edition comes at CNY 2,199 i.e roughly Rs. 22,800.

Availability

The Honor 20i is available for pre-bookings in China through T-mall, V-mall, and JD.com. The 4GB+128GB, 6GB+64GB, and the 6GB+256GB variants of the Honor 20i has already been made available from 18th April 2019. On the other hand, the 6GB+256GB variant and the Honor 20i AAPE Edition will go on sale in May. The company has not yet said a word about the launch of the smartphone across world and it is speculated that the smartphone might be launched as Honor 20 Lite outside China.

Specifications of the Honor 20i

The Honor 20i flaunts a 6.21-inch full HD+ IPS LCD display along with screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display also comes with a dewdrop notch which houses a selfie camera and has a small chin at the bottom.

The smartphone under the hood carries Kirin 710 octa-core SoC mated with the Mali G51MP4 GPU along with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage which can further be expanded up to 512GB via a hybrid microSD card slot. The smartphone comes with the GPU Turbo 2.0 feature for giving the users improved gaming experience.

Optics of the Honor 20i

In the photography department, the Honor 20i carries a triple AI rear camera setup which is aligned vertically. The rear camera includes a primary 24-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The smartphone features night scene mode, AI beauty, professional camera, portrait mode, panorama and many more. At the front, the smartphone flaunts a 32-megapixel camera with AI beauty features for selfies and video calling.

Features of the Honor 20i

The Honor 20i comes with dual-SIM slots and runs on the latest Android 9 Pie which is based on EMUI 9.0. The smartphone comes with a capacity of 3,400mAh battery along with the support of 10W charging. The handset carries a fingerprint scanner at the back and face unlock feature for security.

In terms of the connectivity, the smartphone includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 4G LTE, Micro-USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack support, Qualcomm aptX HD audio, and many more. For eye protection, the Honor 20i received the TUV Rheinland certification. The smartphone measures 154.8 x 73.64 x 7.95mm and weighs 164 grams.

Apart from this launch, the company announced on 15th April that there is a launch event of the Honor 20 series in London on 21st May. It is speculated that the company will launch the Honor 20, Honor 20 Pro, and Honor 20A at the event along with Honor 20i.
