The Huawei based brand has launched Honor 5X in its portfolio devices. The device has been unveiled first in China with all the detailing being confidential in China only. No words have been uttered yet on the launch of the device in the other segments. The metal clad smartphone is also named as Honor Glory Play 5X that comes in two variants as with 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM, priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,200) and CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 14,300) respectively.
The dual SIM smartphone features 4G LTE band and supports Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 4G LTE (FDD and TDD) connectivity options. The smartphone has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution IPS display. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the EMUI 3.1 skin on top. The dual standby supports 4G slots with Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM. It is powered by 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC (four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7GHz + four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.2GHz), clubbed with Adreno 405 GPU.
The device clubs 16GB in-built storage that can be expanded via MicroSD card (up to 128GB). On the snapper’s edge, the device sports 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 28mm wide-angle lens, 5P lens, and Blue Glass IR filter. The selfie trait is featured by 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, 22mm wide-angle, 4P Lens, Blue Glass filter and a shooting range of 88 degrees. It backs up 3000mAh battery which is rated to deliver up to 1.46 days of regular usage time and up to 1.01 days of heavy usage time. It supports Quick Charge 3.0, which can charge up to 50 percent battery in 30 minutes.
Measuring 151.3x76.3x8.15mm, the device weighs 158 grams. It has a fingerprint sensor with the company's latest 'Fingerprint 2.0' tech, placed below rear camera is said to unlock the handset in as little as 0.5 seconds. The smartphone will be available in Silver and Gold color options to lure the customer.
