Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has unveiled its latest budget offering, the Honor V9 Play in China. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Yuan 999 for the 3GB RAM variant and Yuan 1199 for the 4GB RAM version. The device will be available for purchase from September 12 in the Chinese market. The Honor V9 Play comes with Gold, Rose Gold, Red, Blue and Black color options.
The comes with a metal unibody design and comes loaded with a 5.2-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels along with a 2.5D curved glass. Under the hood, you will find an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor along with Mali T860 GPU. This latest smartphone comes in two RAM configurations with one sporting a 3GB RAM, while the other comes loaded with a 4GB of RAM. On the storage front, it is backed by a 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot. On the camera front, the Honor V9 Play sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, 1.12-micron pixel size, 5P lens, aperture f/2.0 and LED flash, while for the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with aperture f/2.2.

The smartphone runs on Android Nougat based on company’s own EMUI 5.1 and it is juiced up by a 3000mAh battery. On the connectivity front, you get 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, GLONASS, dual-SIM and micro USB port. The device measures 147.9 x 73.2 x 76.5 mm and weighs 145 grams. The Honor V9 play has been made available in Gold, Rose Gold, Red, Blue, and Black color options. The smartphone sports a metal unibody with rounded edges, antenna bands on the top and bottom chin just like the iPhone 6, fingerprint scanner at the back right underneath the camera setup. The volume and power keys are on the right edge of the V9 Play, and the front has no home button support. While there's little to no bezel on the left and right side of the smartphone, there's sufficient of it on the top and bottom chin, with the logo printed at the bottom of the screen. The Honor V9 Play's fingerprint scanner claims to unlock the smartphone in just 0.4 seconds.
