The contender of the first mobile payment service Apple Pay seems ready to go head to head. Yes, it’s about the Samsung Pay which is coming to future Samsung devices very soon. However, the company has embedded this feature to newly launched Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, but it's not in working condition.

The tech juggernaut though demoed it at Mobile World Congress to describe its functionality. The juggernaut has put its all efforts to make a new system which can reduce the dependency on credit or debit cards for making payments. Yeah. Like Apple Pay, the Samsung has brought its own Mobile payment service to make payment easy. The Samsung Pay uses Near Field Communication (NFC) and Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technologies to make it happen.

Steps to Follow to Make Payments

Cnet has given a chance to understand the step by step procedure to make payments through Samsung Pay. Here we are elaborating the complete working process of this Mobile Payment application.

  • First off, open the app and scan your credit card. It will automatically add your details or you can enter by yourself.
  • To access the scanned card, you just need to swipe up the bottom bezel of the display to turn on the Samsung Pay. Select any one card among the all scanned cards.
  • A message on the bottom of the screen appears asking for scanning your fingerprint for authentication.
  • Another message will appear to indicate the next step to complete the transaction. Now, put the phone in front of the NFC device or any other card swiper and complete the transaction.
  • After completion, you will receive notifications regarding your payment.

So, here is the answer, the company uses Magnetic Secure Transmission (MST) technology to make its mobile payment service accessible with almost all major payment terminals. To make the transaction secure, company uses own mobile security platforms Samsung KNOX and ARM TrustZone. Tokenization adds more protection to your card details by providing a unique secure token. Currently, the Samsung has made partnership with MasterCard and Visa to make its mobile payment service usable.
