It seems like HTC had plans to offer an array of smartphones for Indian market in this festive season to make Diwali more brightening and happy. In this line, the Company has brought a mid-range smartphone also, dubbed Desire 516C. It is a dual SIM smartphone with CDMA and GSM support. You can also call it the CDMA variant of HTC Desire 516 Dual SIM. The device is available on Snapdeal to buy at Rs. 12,990.
On the specification side, the newly launched smartphone seems identical as its predecessor. However, the camera section has been revamped in the new with 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. HTC Desire 516c disappoints with dated Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS support while Company is planning to upgrade its few phones with the newly launched Android 5.0 Lollipop platform. Will this handset receive this update or not is obscure.
The HTC BlinkFeed home screen features can be seen in this handset which is usually found on HTC’s high-end smartphones only. Featuring 5-inch qHD LCD display, it offers 540x960 pixels screen resolution. The 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor is aired to perform outstanding along with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, the Desire 516c is equipped with 4GB of inbuilt storage. MicroSD card slot is also inside the device to save upto 32GB of data.
The rear panel is complimented with 5MP snapper with LED flash and the front is carved with 0.3MP camera. The potent 1950mAh battery is packed in the handset to deliver upto 9 hours of talk time (3G) and upto 220 hours of standby time (3G). GRPS/ EDGE, 3G (HSPA+), Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm audio jack are few connectivity options for the smartphone. The Company has also unveiled its best selfie smartphone, Desire Eye at the event which will be going to sell in November.
