HTC Reveals Prices of U Ultra, U Play

HTC, the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturing firm unveiled its U Ultra and U Play smartphones last month but had also announced to roll out the smartphones in the month of March 2017. Now, the company has released the pricing of the U Ultra and U Play smartphones for the UK market.

Both the Android handsets are now available via both HTC’s official online store and third-party retailers as well. The HTC U Ultra is available with a price tag of GBP 649 (Rs 54,000 approx), whereas the U-Play is available with a price tag of GBP 399 (Rs 33,000 approx). Shipping of the handsets will start from March 1. Moreover, the smartphones are also available via offline retailers in the UK including Carphone Warehouse, Clove, and Unlocked Mobiles.

The highlighting feature of the handsets is the new AI (Artificial Intelligence) based Sense companion, which learns the user’s daily patterns for providing usage recommendations. Additional features of the smartphone include the HTC sonic earphones, which analysis user’s inner ears with a “sonar-like pulse”; “liquid surface” curved glass construction, the Dual Display, which is a secondary display, and a 16-megapixel front camera with UltraPixel mode. The GSM smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

Concerning the specifications, the HTC U Ultra Dual-SIM smartphone is blessed with a 5.7-inch QHD Super LCD display of resolution 1440 x 2560 pixels whereas the secondary 2-inch display comes with 1040 x 160 pixels resolution. It will be powered by a 2.15GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. In term of optics, it packs a 12-UltraPixel rear camera and 16-megapixel front camera with an UltraPixel mode for selfie enthusiasts. Backed up by a 3000mAh battery, the device will be available in two variants including a 64GB and a 128GB variant.

On the other hand, the HTC U Play packs a 5.2-inch full-HD display and will be available in two variants including a 3GB RAM/32GB inbuilt storage variant and a 4GB RAM/64GB inbuilt storage variant. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 SoC and packs a 16-megapixel rear camera along with a 16-megapixel front shooter with UltraPixel mode. It is backed up by a 2500mAh battery.
