Huawei Foldable 5G Smartphone Set To Unveil On February 24 In Barcelona

It seems that foldable smartphone with the 5G network has been the trend of this year as major OEMs like Samsung, Apple and Huawei are currently working on this technology as well as the patents have been filed by them. Recently, Huawei the Chinese tech giant has shared a press invite via Twitter for an event which is set to schedule on February 24, 2019, in Barcelona at 14:00 CET (6:30 pm IST), a day before the commencement of MWC 2019. The press invite image reveals an edge of the upcoming foldable smartphone demonstrating how the smartphone hinge would work giving us hint about the design of the device.

The leaks so far claim that Huawei first foldable smartphone is expected to be powered by Huawei- owned HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset which would be coupled with the Balong 5000 modem to support 5G network.

The reports suggested that Huawei would manufacture 24,000 to 30,000 units of its first foldable smartphone in the initial phase to check the response of the market. If the device performs better as per the company expectations than Huawei would start the mass production of its first foldable smartphone.

As per the leaks surfaced on the internet, the Huawei first 5G foldable smartphone is likely to come with a 7.2-inch screen display. As of now, it is not confirmed in which markets Huawei would introduce its first foldable smartphone.
