Huawei, the leading Chinese smartphone manufacturing firm has introduced its Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus smartphones in the home market. The highlighting features of the new smartphones are its 20-megapixel selfie camera, the dual rear camera setup, and the latest Android Nougat OS. Both the smartphones will be available by June 16 in China, under which, the Huawei Nova 2 will be available at CNY 2,499 (Rs 23,500 approx), whereas the Huawei Nova 2 Plus will be available with a price tag of CNY 2,899 (Rs 27,200 approx).
The differences that make these smartphone different from each other are their storage capacity, screen size and battery. Apart from that, both the smartphones are blessed with a metal finish along with a fingerprint sensor at the rear side. Inspired by Apple, both the handsets feature antenna bands placed just like the latest iPhone 7 and there are neither any home button nor any capacitive buttons on the screen of them. The power buttons and volume keys are embedded at the right edge, whereas the speaker grilles and the USB Type-C port can be seen at the bottom of the handset.
In term of specifications, the Nova 2 Android smartphone is blessed with a 5-inch full-HD IPS in-cell display, with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and 2.5D curved glass protection. It is powered by a 2.36GHz octa-core Kirin 659 processor coupled with ARM Mali-T830 MP2 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The handset also packs 64GB of inbuilt memory space, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card.
As we already have mentioned above, the biggest highlights of the Dual-SIM smartphone is its dual rear camera setup and the 20-megapixel front shooter. The dual rear camera setup of the handset includes one 12-megapixel sensor with a f/1.8 aperture for a wide-angle and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens for advanced zoom. The new offering by Huawei also packs OIS support and a Portrait mode along with the ability to change focus after taking a picture. At the front, the company has provided a 20-megapixel sensor along with intelligent fill light for low light photography and beauty filters to enhance selfie experience.
The GSM handset is backed up by a 2950mAh battery along with fast charging support and runs Android Android 7.0 Nougat based on EMUI 5.1 OS. It includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G LTE, 3.5mm audio jack, and Bluetooth support as connectivity options and will be available in Green, Rose Gold, Black, Gold, and Blue colour options. Coming next to the elder brother of Nova 2, the Nova 2 Plus packs similar specifications, except a 5.5-inch full-HD display, 128GB inbuilt storage, and a larger 3340 mAh battery.
Apart from these fabulous gadgets, the company has also unveiled additional accessories such as a panoramic camera accessory at CNY 899 (Rs. 8,500 approx), a mobile bracelet at CNY 298 (Rs. 2,800 approx), and a Bluetooth headset at CNY 699 (Rs. 6,500 approx).
