Huawei Terminal's Honor brand has dispatched the V8 smartphone in China. The cell phone is up for registrations from Tuesday through Vmall, JD.com and other online retailers in the nation, with the main flash sale on May 17. The cell phone has been priced at three different price rates i.e., CNY 2,299 (nearly Rs. 23,500) for the 4GB of RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage variation, CNY 2,499 (generally Rs. 25,500) for 4GB of RAM + 32GB inbuilt storage variation with extra network support, and lastly CNY 2,799 (approx. Rs. 28,600) for the 4GB of RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variation with QHD display.
For now, there is no information from the company's end about the global availability of the smartphone. The major highlight of the Android smartphone Honor V8 is the double camera setup it highlights, with two 12-megapixel back cameras with Dual-tone LED flash, laser autofocus, BSI sensor, and a f/2.2 aperture opening. It comes coupled with an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.4 aperture gap.
The GSM-handset Honor V8 accompanies two display choices to its users depending on the model chosen. The 32GB storage variant model accompanies a 5.7-inch full-HD display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels and a pixel density of 386ppi, whilst the 64GB variant model accompanies a 5.7-inch Quad HD display with a pixel density of 515ppi and a resolution of 1440x2560 pixels.
The V8 is fueled by an octa-core Kirin 950 SoC divided into two quad-cores (quad-core Cortex-A72 clocked at 2.5GHz + quad-core Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.8GHz) further combined with Mali T880 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It bears either 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt storage options as mentioned before both of which are expandable through microSD card up to 128GB in a hybrid dual-SIM layout that supports two Nano-SIM cards, or one Nano-SIM card and one microSD card depending on the user requirement.
The Dual-SIM Honor V8 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei's EMUI 4.1 skin on the top and supports Dual-standby feature. Connectivity options include 4G LTE with support for Indian LTE groups, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm earphone jack, and an Infrared emitter. It weighs 170 grams and dimensionally measures 157x77.6x7.75mm.
It houses a 3500mAh battery with quick charging feature. Sensors on board incorporate the gravity sensor, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, and magnetometer. It additionally bears a unique fingerprint sensor on the rear panel and will likely be accessible in four color variants namely Platinum Gold, Rose Gold, Champagne Gold, and Glacier Silver.
