Intex Aqua G2 Budget-friendly Smartphone Goes On Sale in India

Intex the homegrown company has unveiled another budget-friendly Android smartphone dubbed as Intex Aqua G2 for its user base in India. The smartphone has been priced quote nominally at just INR 1,990 targeting the first-time smartphone buyers.

Commenting on the launch, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona, Mobile Business Head, Intex Technologies said, "With Aqua G2, we are targeting feature phone users who are yet to switch to smartphones. Aqua G2 is a brilliant device having all the required features, performance capability for any first-time user to get the smartphone experience. We are confident that Aqua G2 at such affordable price point will further enhance our market share and tap the potential feature phone consumers."

In terms of specifications, the GSM device features a very small 2.8-inch TFT display that gives a mediocre screen resolution of 240x320 pixels. The smartphone operates on quite an old Android JellyBean operating system v4.2.2 and despite the fact that lacks 3G support which is a necessity the handset does supports 2G connectivity. Under the hood, the Dual-SIM supportable device packs an 100mAh battery that can offer a talk time of up to 5 hours and a standby time of up to 6 days.

On the camera front, the handset comes equipped with a 0.3-megapixel front and rear cameras which come accompanied with an LED flash. In terms of hardware specs, the Aqua G2 gets powered by a single-core processor coupled with 256MB of RAM and packs 512MB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card up to 16GB. Dimensionally, it measures 105x57.4x11mm and is available in two color variants namely Grey and Champagne. Additionally, the company also states that the device would come with several preloaded apps such as Opera mini and others.

One must recall that Intex recently in last month unveiled another budget-friendly smartphone titled the Cloud Gem+ that went on sale exclusively from Snapdeal, at Rs. 3,299. It's again a Dual-SIM smartphone that operates on Android Lollipop featuring a 4-inch WVGA display with Gorilla Glass protection and powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3GHz. It came with 512MB of RAM housing 4GB of inbuilt storage, of which 956MB is for users. However, it did support microSD card up to 32GB as well. In connectivity options, the device supports 3G, AGPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, FM radio, and Micro-USB 2.0.
