Jolla Smartphone Set to Touch The Indian Soil By September 23

Along with a tagline Join the unlikely on September 23, 2014 on the official invites, now Jolla has confirmed the arrival of its smartphone in India. After a spell of comparative silence, this Sailfish OS based handset has received the launching date for native marketplace. However, Jolla is a new name in the space of mobile devices and gadgets, which has been founded by former Nokia employees.

Back in July, the smartphone was declared to be commenced in India via an E-commerce website, Snapdeal. Now, the reports have appeared as credible because the invites are clearly asserting that mobile phone will be traded exclusively via the above mentioned online portal.

As per the earlier reports, this Sailfish based gadget is available in some specific territories such as Finland, EU, Norway and Switzerland through company's official stores. It is also procurable in Europe with a price tag of EUR 399, which is approximately Rs. 34,000 according to the Indian currency.

Diving into this upcoming smartphone, which is expected to be congruent with nearly 85,000 Android app. The device has been asserted to be fitted with 4G option on the connectivity front. However, all the specs and features are as same as we have in prior tidings.

Apparently, the most highlighted part of the handset is its operating system, which was previously entitled as MeeGo in collaboration with Intel. It was also rumored as the new scion of Nokia N9 that is the last phone in this lineup. Moreover, the corporation has also proclaimed that device might hit the ledges of retail stores in Hong Kong and Russia in coming months.

As the matter of fact, the native smartphone has already enjoyed the zest of some affordable devices, which also offer high-end features and specs such as Redmi 1S, second-generation Moto G and Asus ZenFone 5. At this place, Jolla's Sailfish based handset will have to face a better rivalry to be crowned as a best buy.
