Lenovo India has finally unveiled Moto Z and Moto Z play modular smartphones along with Moto Mods on Tuesday in India. The Moto Z will be priced at Rs 39,999 and Moto Z Play at Rs 24,999, both the smartphones will be available via Flipkart and Amazon India from 11:59pm on October 17.
The company has introduced various Moto Mods of different use, which are used to connect the rear part of smartphones via-16-dots connector interface. The JBL Sound Boost Mod among them is priced at Rs 6,999, the Moto Hasselblad True Zoom at Rs 19,999, the Moto Insta-Share Projector at Rs 19,999, the Leather Style Shell at Rs 1,599, the Incipio offGRID Power Pack at Rs 5,999 and the Wood and Ballistic Nylon Motorola Style Shell at Rs 1,099. The prices are given if the Moto Mods are purchased alone.
If consumer purchases these Mods along with the smartphone then all of these Moto Mods will be available with a small discount. According to which the JBL Soundboost will be priced at Rs 5,999, the Moto-Insta Share Projector at Rs 15,999, the Hasselblad True Zoom at Rs 14,999, the Incipio offGRID power pack at Rs 4,999, the Wood and Ballistic Nylon Motorola Style Shell at Rs 899 and the Leather Style Shell at Rs 1,299.
As per the specifications part, the Moto Z features a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display of resolution 1440 X 2560 pixels and Runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The GSM handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. On the optical part, the smartphone packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, and dual LED flash, which is capable of recording 4K video at 30fps. A 5-megapixel front shooter is also provided by the company with a f/2.2 aperture, a wide-angle lens with flash.
The Dual-SIM handset is blessed with a 64GB inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. Connectivity options on the board of Moto Z include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. There is no 3.5mm jack built in the smartphone, however, the company is going to make a 3.5mm-to-USB-Type-C adapter. The handset is backed up by a 2600mAh battery, which is capable of delivering up to 24 hours of mixed usage battery life. It also comes with a TurboPower charger, which the company says can deliver up to 7 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes of charging.
Coming next to Moto Z Play, the Android smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC along with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The optical part of the handset includes a 16-megapixel rear camera along with PDAF, laser autofocus, a f/2.0 aperture, dual-LED flash and 4K recording support at 30fps. A 5-megapixel front shooter is also provided by the company with a f/2.2 aperture, a wide-angle lens, and its own flash. The device is blessed with 32GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. Connectivity options on the board includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G LTE, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.
Backed up by a massive 3150 mAh of battery, the smartphone is rated to deliver up to 45 hours of mixed use of battery life and the TurboPower Charging option in the device can deliver 8 hours of battery. Both the devices run Android v6.0 Marshmallow OS and feature water-repellent nano-coating and a fingerprint sensor on the home button. Both the smartphones will be available in Black with Silver trim, and White with fine Gold trim color variants.
