Meizu Metal launched with 5.5-inch Display, 13MP Camera

Meizu has unveiled a new smartphone in its flagship series lined-up phone to hit the mark within the mediocre market. Meizu Metal has been launched with 5.5-inch screen to feature 13MP camera at the rear panel within the price range, costing Rs. 11,330. There are two variants provided to the smartphone to feature. One is the 16GB variant that costs CNY 1,099 (roughly Rs. 11,300) and the other is 32GB variant that is priced at CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 13,300).

November 2 will be providing the handset on sale, with its pre-registration started from today, as per the company's Weibo post. The metal-bodied handset is priced for the launch place but no words have been uttered yet on the global price and availability.

The dual-SIM smartphone runs Flyme 5.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop with an additional YunOS (aka AliyunOS) version with Flyme 5 UI on top has also been announced. Meizu's Blue Charm lineup includes the smartphones like Meizu m2, m2 note, m1 and m1 note.

The smartphone features 5.5-inch full HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution LTPS display supported by 2.5D curved glass and T2X-1 glass protection. It is powered by 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor clocked at 2GHz. The device is housed with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. The battery panel sported by the metal body is 3140mAh battery. It measures 150.7x75.3x8.2mm and weighs 162 grams.

The device is highly powered which supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and Micro-USB connectivity features at the connectivity edge. The snapper’s edge is integrated with 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 5P lenses and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) and dual-tone LED flash. The front shooter has 5-megapixel front-facer. With all the specifications mentioned, Meizu Metal has been compared to the Meizu MX5 smartphone.

The metal comes with two in-built storage variants-16GB and 32GB. Both the storage segments are expandable to 128GB via microSD card. The dual-SIM supportive smartphone features the second SIM port to be the micro-SD card port. Exploring the statement, the dual-SIM smartphone would act as a single-SIM handset with microSD card.
