Micromax Canvas 2 Plus (2018) budget segment smartphone goes official in India on 16th June which has been priced at Rs 8,999. After a long period of time, an indigenous smartphone manufacturer has finally launched the successor of Canvas 2 Plus. The key highlighting features of recently launched Micromax Canvas 2 Plus (2018) includes 18:9 aspect ratio, Facial Recognition to hold its position in the competitive market.

The company launched the Micromax Canvas 2 Plus (2018) in two color options: Matte black and Jet black which is available for purchase via offline retail channels as well as online stores throughout the country.
The Micromax Canvas 2 Plus (2018) flaunts a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS display, commonly found 18:9 aspect ratio, 450 nits peak brightness and a screen resolution of 720x1440 pixel. It runs on older Android Nougat Operating System and comes with dual- sim (Nano) connectivity. In terms of hardware, the smartphone has 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage with an option to extend further by using a memory card.
In terms of eyes that means the camera, Canvas 2 Plus (2018) comes with 13-megapixel rear camera offering, 1.12µm sensor, LED flash time lapse, watermark support, 80-degree Field-Of-View (FOV) and full HD video capability. At the front, the smartphone has 8-megapixel selfie- shooter coupled with Beauty mode and Portrait mode. Additionally, the front- camera also has selfie- flash which helps to capture impressive selfies during low- light conditions.
The budget segment Micromax Canvas 2 Plus has Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as connectivity options. Under the hood, it is powered by a 4000mAh battery. The smartphone supports 22 regional languages. In terms of security, the smartphone comes with facial recognition feature which unlocks the smartphone by using facial pattern and also has a fingerprint sensor.
While addressing at the launch event, Vikas Jain, Co-Founder if Micromax Informatics said in a press release, "Over the last few years, as the Indian handset and telecom industry has undergone a dynamic shift, the focus of consumers is shifting from just the hardware to overall connected experience. Therefore, to address the consumer needs, we are coming up with Canvas 2 Plus with compelling features like Infinity screen, Face Unlock feature, compelling battery etc. We expect Canvas 2 Plus to yet again set a benchmark and revolutionize the overall smartphone adoption.”
At the price point, it seems that Micromax Canvas 2 Plus (2018) will face stiff competition from renowned Xiaomi Redmi 5, recently launched Redmi Y2, Moto G6 Play, Oppo Realme 1, Honor 9 Lite and others.
