Microsoft And HTC Planning To Release New Windows 10 Handsets

HTC Corporation (High Tech Computer Corporation), is a Taiwanese multinational manufacturer of smartphones and tablets headquartered in New Taipei City, Taiwan. HTC began as an original design manufacturer and original equipment manufacturer, designing and manufacturing devices such as mobile phones, touchscreen phones, and PDAs based on Windows Mobile OS. Now, it seems that HTC wants to make a comeback in the Windows Phone market in a few months. The company is said to be working on new Windows 10 Mobile smartphones and will be unveiling them soon. However, what is more surprising that HTC is doing this in partnership with Microsoft. The last time we saw HTC release a Windows Phone device was in 2014. On this occasion, the company launched a Windows version of the HTC One M8 several months after the Android variant was released. Since then HTC has stuck firmly with Android.

A job post on 2015 December on the Microsoft site mentions the partnership. The posting, in which Microsoft recognizes HTC as one of its top third-party phone manufacturers, says it is looking for personnel who can lead "all aspects of sales and business development interaction with HTC". Also, Microsoft is seeking candidates for the post of director of account management who will be placed in Taipei and will be working with HTC directly to launch new Windows 10 Mobile products.

Separately, according to tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks), HTC plans to launch its first smartwatch soon. The long-rumoured smartwatch will go on sale before April, he said. A lot of ink has been spilled on the unannounced product. The wearable gadget was once spotted on a company's video. Last year, explaining why the company hasn't launched the smartwatch yet, HTC CEO Peter Chou said, "We try to be very careful instead of just putting out whatever, so we keep working on it."

A report from December 2015 claimed that the smartwatch will be called the HTC One Smartwatch and will be launched in February. The Taiwanese company is expected to launch the HTC One M10 at the Mobile World Congress next week, and Only time will tell if the company could utilize the same event to unveil its smartwatch as well.
