In today's tech-world, we see a wide range of smart phones that show up in the market. One such company that came up last year was OnePlus One that brought with it a completely new range of smart phones in the line that always drew a lot of curiosity in the gadget community. The company successfully completed its two years in the market and on the occasion announced an all new Champagne edition of its OnePlus X smart phone that was launched in October this year. Carl Pei, OnePlus Co-Founder, in an official blog post revealed that the OnePlus X Champagne edition will be available in White and Gold versions in countries other than China, which was later confirmed by the Chinese company in its statement that read that the new version will be going on sale first in Europe followed by other markets soon.
Carl Pei also state that The Champagne edition will be available during the company's weekly open sales and will be sold on first-come, first-serve basis and those who already have an invite for the OnePlus X (Review) phone can use it to purchase this Champagne edition on any day as per their convenience. The OnePlus X Champagne edition has now been listed on the company's China site at a price of CNY 1,599 (approximately Rs. 16,500) which is similar to the price of Onyx version that too came some time before.
Before the launch of Champagne edition, it was speculated and reported that the smart phone would be exclusive to China, however, updated reports confirmed that the new smart phone would be first made available in Europe, before becoming available in other markets. As of now, the company has also not revealed any rollout plans for markets that require country-specific invites, like India, but it did say that its OnePlus X would be available for purchase without invites every Tuesday.
If we look at the specifications of The OnePlus X, we observe that it is a dual-SIM smart phone featuring a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display, powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 quad-core SoC clocked at 2.3GHz, and comes with 3GB of RAM. Other features of the OnePlus include 16GB of built-in storage, expandable upto 128GB via MicroSD card, a 13-megapixel rear camera with 8-megapixel camera on the front and is equipped with a 2525mAh non-removable battery. The smart phone also supports 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi, along with other standard connectivity features and the newly launched Champagne edition too comes with almost similar features with hardly a few tweaks under the hood.
