Online Leaked Images Of iPhone SE Box Confirms 16 GB Storage

The days ahead of Apple’s March 21 event, leaked packaging for the iPhone SE has seemingly confirmed the base model will sport just 16GB storage and will also not have any 3.5 mm jack option. The is already creating a lot of buzzes and will no doubt receive plenty of ire when the device is announced next week.

The iPhone SE isn’t expected to be a flagship release of Apple, but it follows a worrying approach as Apple seems unwilling to put in the rearview. Last year, people became upset that Apple continued to stick with the low storage option with its iPhone 6S and iPhone 6s Plus, and there’s no evidence to suggest things will change when the iPhone 7 hits later this year.

According to 9to5Mac, the iPhone SE will come in both 16GB and 64GB options, and essentially replace the remaining iPhone 5s units up for sale. From a design standpoint, it’ll apparently be difficult to tell the two models apart though the iPhone SE is expected to include upgraded specs, such as an A9 chip, always-on Siri and Apple Pay support.

As per the latest set of leaks and rumours revolving around the iPhone SE, the handset is supposed to feature 4K resolution video recording capabilities. It is also likely to feature hardware and software capability to support Live Photos, a feature that Apple introduced with iOS 9 last year. 9to5Mac in another report cites people familiar with the device to claim the smartphone will indeed feature 4K video recording on its 12-megapixel iSight camera, an M9 co-processor, and NFC chip for Apple Pay, and a body that's nearly exactly like the iPhone 5s but with slightly different curves, and not shiny like the original. Rumours are also high claiming that the iPhone SE will miss out on 3D Touch display, which is one of the most interesting features of Apple's current flagship smartphone models.

According to the analyst Ming-Chi, Kuo at KGI Securities claims the iPhone SE will be priced between $400-$500 (roughly between Rs. 27,500 and 34,500, which is lower than the off-contract retail price of the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s. Reports also claim that Apple might slash the official retail price of the iPhone 5s in half at the event.

All these rumours and speculation will end on Monday when Apple will unveil its product officially on that day.
