Samsung, the South-Korean giant, has launched the Galaxy J2 Core in India at an economical price tag of Rs 6,190. It is the first smartphone from Samsung that runs on Android Oreo Go Edition.
Samsung has announced the Galaxy J2 Core at the fourth edition of ‘Google for India’ at an event in New Delhi. This is the first time that Samsung has partnered with Google to launch its first Android Go Edition smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core comes with a price tag of Rs 6,190. It will be available for purchase from 28th August at Samsung’s online and offline retail stores across India. It is available in three color options including black, blue, and gold color.
At this price point, it seems that Galaxy J2 Core would compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5A as well as newly launched 10.or D2 on Amazon.
The Samsung Galaxy J2 Core has a 5-inch TFT display with the screen resolution of 540×960 pixels. It is powered by the company owned Exynos 7570 SoC coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB internal storage that can be further extended up to 256GB by using a microSD card.
In terms of camera department, the Galaxy J2 Core has an 8-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel selfie camera with an aperture of f/2.2 each. It is armed with a 2,600mAh battery. The smartphone has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0, GPS, and Glonass.
As a part of Android Go Edition, the Galaxy J2 Core runs on Android Oreo Go Edition out-of-the-box. It is bundled with several Google Go apps such as Gmail Go, Google Maps Go, Assistant Go, Gboard Go, and YouTube Go and more.
