Samsung New Phablet to Likely Get Unveiled on August 2

It is a widely known fact that South Korean corporation Samsung desperately tries overthrowing the market set up by the iPhone devices every year. Now, as per the latest reports, the company is rumored to add a new product to the Galaxy Note products lineup by unveiling Galaxy Note 7 Edge.

As per the latest leaked image shared by Sammobile, the company would likely unveil the phablet on August 2 via an event to be held at the Lincoln Center in New York and scheduled to begin at 8.30pm as per Indian Time (11am EDT). The image also clarifies that the upcoming phablet would be simply called the Galaxy Note 7 skipping the numeral part done in an attempt to avoid confusions among the users and is also done to maintain the uniformity with the Galaxy S series.

Though it's yet not confirmed but the image also hints at the return of an Edge variant device alongside the Galaxy Note 7 or in another way can also be seen as the launch of only one smartphone featuring a Dual-Edge display earlier seen on the Galaxy S7 Edge.

One must recall that the company decided to let go the manufacturing of its Edge variants to overcome the technical issues of S Pen, where the last Edge variant was Galaxy Note 5.

In terms of specifications, there is a long list of leaked specs which indicate that the device would likely sport a 5.8-inch QHD display and would be powered by either a Snapdragon 820 SoC chip or Snapdragon 823 SoC. The device additionally would come equipped with 6GB of RAM offering 32GB of inbuilt storage with expansion support via external microSD card.

On the camera front, the device would likely sport a 12-megapixel rear camera coupled with a Dual Pixel setup on the front side. Not just this, the device is also expected to feature an iris scanner, a fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C port to enhance user experience.
