Sharp, Japanese multinational electronics corporation has recently launched a new smartphone, with the name tag, Aquos R2 Compact in its home country Japan. The company somehow managed to follow the trend of display notches and has offered something unique as compared to other smartphone players. The Japanese tech giant has offered dual notches on the Sharp Aquos R2 Compact consisting of water- drop styled notch on the top and a slightly wider notch on the bottom which boasts fingerprint scanner.
Currently, Sharp has not revealed the price of Aquos R2 Compact. The deliveries of the smartphone will start from mid-January that is to be available SoftBank particularly in Japan.
The Sharp Aquos R2 has been developed with an aluminium frame, while the power and volume buttons are placed on the right- hand side. The disappointing part is that the smartphone has a single on the rear and front panel.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Sharp Aquos R2 Compact comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD+ display with the screen resolution of 1080x2280 pixels. For the security purpose, the smartphone has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 as well as 2.5D tempered glass which protects the device from scratches and damages. Inside the device, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. It has microSD card which supports data extension up to 512GB.
For photography, the Sharp Aquos R2 Compact has a 22.6MP rear camera that offers high-speed autofocus, f/1.9 aperture, OIS, and electronic handshake correction. For selfies and video calling, there is an 8MP front-facing camera. The smartphone is armed with a 2,500mAh battery.
The connectivity options on the Aquos R2 Compact are 4G VoLTE, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and USB Type-C port. The dimensions and weight of the device are 131x64x9.3mm and 135 grams respectively. It comes with a face unlock and a physical fingerprint scanner which allow users to unlock the device.
