Swipe Elite Star 4G VoLTE Smartphone Gold Variant Unveiled at Rs 3,699

Swipe Technologies, the Indian smartphone manufacturing firm, on Tuesday, introduced the Gold colour variant of its Elite Star smartphone in India. The handset made its debut back in December last year, which was upgraded to the 16GB storage variant in the previous month. Still, the new variant by the company is only available in 8GB storage model via Flipkart with a price tag of Rs 3,699.

Shripal Gandhi, founder and CEO of Swipe, while commenting on the launch of the new Gold variant of Swipe Elite Star, said, “To cater to the large entry-level population, we have re-designed the popular Elite Star smartphone keeping in mind their unique needs. Also, keeping in mind the linguistic preference of the target users, we have designed the phone to operate on the Indian regional languages with the innovative Indus OS that eliminates the language barrier among people, and helps us move towards a cashless economy.”

Coming next to the specifications, the Android smartphone is blessed with a 4-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based Indus OS. It is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The handset is available in two storage options of 8GB and 16GB along with a facility to expand its memory up to 32GB via microSD card.

In term of optics, the Dual-SIM handset features a 5-megapixel rear camera along with a LED flash and 1.3-megapixel of the front shooter for shooting selfies. It is backed up by a 2000mAh battery, which comes with rapid charge technology for fast charging. The GSM handset also offers OS-based features such as Indus Swipe, Word and Matra prediction, Indus Reader, Indus Messaging, and a Hybrid Keyboard that supports 12 regional languages. Connectivity options on the board include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Bluetooth.

As a recall, Swipe made a partnership with Indus OS alongside Celkon last year, which brought the domestically-made operating system in more devices across the country. Apart from this, Micromax is already a partner of Indus OS to increase the sales of smartphone for non-English speaking users.
