Vivo X23 has been the matter of subject from last few weeks as the leaks of the smartphone had appeared on the internet before the formal launch. As expected, the Vivo X23 has been launched by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer in its home country China on 6th September 2018.

The Vivo X23 features a similar design that we have seen on previous Vivo smartphones. The key highlights of much anticipated Vivo X23 include water drop display notch, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3D glass body, Jovi AI, Face Unlock and more.
As of now, it is not confirmed that when the Vivo would unveil the X23 in other markets outside China including India.
In China, the Vivo X23 comes with a price tag of CNY 3,498 (approximately Rs. 36,700). The company has offered the smartphone in various enticing color options such as Fashion Orange, Fashion Purple, Midnight Blue, Phantom Purple, and Phantom Red.
One must note that the Fashion Orange and Fashion Purple color variants of X23 features a big Vivo logo on the rear panel. It will be available for purchase from 14th September 2018 across the country particularly in China.
The specifications of VivoX23 had appeared on the internet before the formal launch event so it’s not surprising for us when the smartphone officially debut in the China market. As expected, the Vivo X23 comes with 6.41-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display having a screen resolution of 1080x2340 pixels.
It shipped with Android 8.1 Oreo along with Funtouch OS 4.5. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage configuration.
In terms of lens, the Vivo X23 comes with dual- cameras on the rear panel consisting of 12-megapixel primary sensor and 13-megapixel secondary sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and f/2.4. The rear camera set up panel features a 125-degree super wide-angle lens.
For selfies and video calling, the smartphone has a 12-megapixel front-facing camera with an aperture of f/2.0.
The Vivo X23 is equipped with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 (with aptX), GPS, GLONASS, OTG support, dual- sim (Nano). It packs a 3,400mAh battery bundled with 22.5W fast charging. The dimension of the smartphone are 157.68x74.06x7.47mm and weighs 160.5 grams.
Vivo, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has added a new Star Edition in its existing Vivo X23 line up which was launched initially at the beginning of September in Midnight Blue, Phantom Purple, Fashion Orange, Fashion Purple, and Phantom Red color options.
Vivo X23 Star Edition comes with a light to dark red gradient finish which has vertical coloured streaks on the rear panel along with other contrasting colours. The vertical streaks have been developed with a nano-scale high-precision laser engraving process.
When the light focused on the device it creates thousands of illusion diffraction units so the device starts shining brightly and provides a different look to Vivo X23 in terms of appearance.
The Vivo X23 Star Edition has been priced at CNY 3,500 which is similar to regular Vivo X23. The Star Edition is available for pre-bookings in the China market but now the company has not revealed the availability details.
The specifications of a new Star Edition is similar to previously launched regular Vivo X23 and the major difference can be seen only on colour patterns.
