Vivo, the Chinese company has now introduced the Vivo Y81 in India at a price tag of Rs 12,999 which is available in Black and Gold color options. Interested users can purchase the smartphone from Amazon.in and Flipkart.
The Vivo Y81 looks similar to the Vivo Y83 in terms of design which was launched in India in May 2018. The Vivo Y83 features cut- out display on the top similar to Apple iPhone X and also has a bezel-less design on the front. The key highlighting features of Vivo Y81 includes Face Detection, 19:9 aspect ratio and a 3260 mAh battery.
The Vivo Y81 features a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS display, 19:9 aspect ratio and has a screen resolution of 720x1520 pixels. The Y81 comes with Corning Gorilla Glass on the top which protects the smartphone from scratches and damages.
It runs on top of the line Android 8.1 Oreo operating system skinned with FunTouch OS 4.0. In terms of hardware, the smartphone has an octa-core MediaTek MT6762 chipset clocked at 2.0GHz.
The smartphone offers IMG GE8320 graphics, 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be further extended up to 256GB by using a memory card.
The Vivo Y81 gets a 13-megapixel rear camera offering an LED flash and an aperture of f/2.2. On the front, the smartphone has 5-megapixel sensors to capture selfies and video calling. It is armed with a 3260mAh battery.
The Y81 has Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, single-band Wi-Fi 802.11 (2.4GHz), 4G VoLTE, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as connectivity options. The dimensions and weight of the smartphone are 155.06x75.0x7.77 and 148 grams respectively.
Previously, Vivo the Chinese smartphone manufacturer had launched Y81 in the Taiwan market in June month this year. Within 2 months of Taiwan launch, It looks like Vivo Y81 would have to face stiff competition from Realme 1, Redmi Note 5, Honor 9N and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. Previously, the company had launched Vivo Y83 in Y-series in India at a price tag of Rs 14,990.
