6GB RAM variants of Xiaomi Mi Play Launched in China

After being in the rumours from the last couple of weeks, the Xiaomi Mi Play has been finally unveiled in the home country, China. Mi Play is the first smartphone under the Xiaomi Play series. Likewise previous Xiaomi smartphones, the Mi Play comes with a trending water drop- shaped notch on the top bezels. The key highlights of the device octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC, dual rear cameras and more. The company has complimentary 10GB of free data per month for 12 months to surfing the internet on Mi Play.

Xiaomi launches 6GB RAM variants of Mi Play in the China market. Earlier this week, the company had launched the Mi Play with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. After the launch of 6GB RAM variants, now Mi Play is to be made available in three storage variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage and the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model. It must be noted that these variants have been launched particularly in the China market.

Xiaomi Mi Play 6GB Variants Price in China

In China, the Xiaomi Mi Play costs CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 13,200) for 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage model while the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant has been priced at at CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 16,300).

The 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant is available in three colour options including Black, Dream Blue, and Twilight while the other 6GB/ 128GB storage variant is available in Black, Dream Blue, and Twilight Gold.

To recall, the Xiaomi Mi Play 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant was launched at CNY 1,099 (roughly Rs. 11,000), and it is available in different colour options including Black, Dream Blue, and Twilight Gold as well as gradient finish.

Xiaomi Mi Play Price and Availability

In China, the Xiaomi Mi Play costs CNY 1,099 which roughly converts into Rs. 11,100 for single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. It has been launched in Black, Dream Blue, and Twilight Gold color options featuring a gradient finish design.

In China market, the Mi Play will be available for purchase from 10 AM (CST) on December 25 at Xiaomi offline store. The users will get 10GB of internet data per month for 12 months.

Xiaomi Mi Play specifications

The Xiaomi Mi Play comes with a 5.84-inch full-HD+ display along that offers 19:9 aspect ratio and the screen resolution of 1080x2280 pixels. It supports dual- SIM (Nano) and runs on Android 8.1 Oreo- out- of- the box layered with the company’s owned MIUI 10.

Under the hood, the Mi Play is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC. For storing data, the company has offered 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory that can be further extended up to 256GB via microSD card.

The Mi Play from Xiaomi comes with dual rear-camera set up that consists of a 12MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor. An LED flash is positioned just beneath the rear camera setup. For selfies and video calling, the smartphone gets an 8MP selfie snapper.

For the connectivity options, the Mi Play gets 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. It has been embedded with an accelerometer, ambient light, geomagnetic, and gyroscope. The Xiaomi Mi Play is armed with a 3,000mAh battery and its dimensions are 147.76×71.89×7.8mm.

As of now, it is not confirmed that when Xiaomi would unveil Mi Play in other markets outside China.
