After encountering a contingent ban for selling and importing smartphones in Indian market, Xiaomi has finally succeeded to regress in domestic space. Apparently, the ruler of budget-friendly handset segment, Redmi 1S will again go on flash sale on the 23rd of December in India via company's E-commerce affiliate: Flipkart at Rs. 5,999. As we know, Ericsson did litigate against this China based mobile maker for infringing on its Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), where it had also rejected to pay licensing fees. Whereby, Delhi High Court had applied ex parte prohibitory order against Xiaomi. But, last week court gave a reprieve to firm by allowing imports and sales of Qualcomm chipset based handset in native market such as Redmi 1S and Redmi Note 4G.
Notably, prospective buyers of this smartphone can visit the official website of online retailer, where they need to fill registrations to participate in sale. And, registration service will be live till 11:59 pm on 22 December. The retailer has also mentioned that only one device will be vended per consumer.
However, Flipkart will start flash selling at 2pm on the 23rd of December, but there is no word on how many units will be up for sale. Unfortunately, non-Qualcomm 3G-only Redmi Note is still prohibited in Indian market, which had brought a great leveraging to the corporation. Though, its 4G-capable sibling: Redmi Note 4G is permitted for trading, but there is no word about exact date of availability.
