Xiaomi Redmi 5 4GB RAM Variant Launched, Price, Specifications and Much More

Xiaomi, the Chinese mobile manufacturing company has silently listed Xiaomi Redmi 5 4GB RAM variant on the official website of China. It will be the third variant of Redmi 5 which is being offered by Xiaomi. Both 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM variants of Redmi 5 were previously launched by the company. The Redmi 5 4GB RAM variant is available for purchase at 1,099 Yuan (approximately Rs 11,000) at company’s official website of China. The company has not made any changes in the specifications of the smartphone excluding its RAM, the newly launched variant of Redmi 5 has a 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage . It is anticipated that the company will launch Redmi 5 4GB RAM variant in India very soon. The new variant of the smartphone is available in four color options: Rose Gold, Light Blue, Black, and Gold. The new variant of Redmi 5 is launched along with Redmi 5 plus at an event conducted in China.

To recall, Xiaomi Redmi 5 sports a 5.7-inch HD plus screen along with resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels resolution. The smartphone has a bezel-less display along with 18: 9 aspect ratio. It is embedded with octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor coupled and runs on MIUI 9 which is based on Android- nougat- out of the box. Currently, Redmi 5 is available in two storage variants: the first one is 2GB RAM along with 16GB internal storage capacity and the second one is 3GB RAM along with 32GB internal storage capacity. After the launch of the third variant of Redmi 5, the smartphone has a 4GB RAM along with 32GB internal storage. There is also an option of micro SD card to further extend the storage capacity of the smartphone. In terms of optics, Redmi 5 comes with a 12 megapixel rear featuring a flash, PDAF, and a f/2.2 aperture lens. The smartphone has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies and video calling featuring a Beautify 3.0 camera to enhance the portraits. A fingerprint sensor is positioned below the rear camera on the back side of the smartphone.

Connectivity options on the smartphone include Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and micro-USB are some of the connectivity features of the smartphone. On the sensors board, it includes ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, and gyroscope. The Redmi 5 weight is nearly 180 grams. Yet the company has not disclosed anything about the launch of the smartphone in India but we are assuming that the company will launch Redmi 5 4GB variant in India very soon.
