Mi A2 from Xiaomi is the latest smartphone that has started receiving the much-anticipated Android 9.0 Pie software update currently in India. As a part of Android One programme being developed by Google, Mi A2 was previously launched with stock Android only.
It must be noted that the Xiaomi Mi A2 users soon to get the latest Android version on their devices in India only, along with enticing features. The disappointing part is that there is no information about the Android 9.0 Pie update for the Mi A1 users which is the first Xiaomi Android One smartphone.
The Mi A2 users have posted the screenshot of the latest Android 9.0 version on Xiaomi's Mi Forum. As per the screenshots on Xiaomi's Mi Forum, it seems that Xiaomi Mi A2's Android 9 Pie Software update could come with certain features such as "simpler ways to navigate your phone", "adaptive battery and brightness" and "recommended apps and actions based on your context". To update the latest Android version in Mi A2, the users must require 1067.7MB storage space on their device.
A piece of information has been posted by Reddit and Google+ users which suggests that the Mi A2 users will get various features such as app actions, slices, improved security features, Digital Wellbeing, new accessibility menu, new screenshot shortcut, easier screen rotation, volume and sound improvements, selectable dark mode, easier text selection, more notification information, and so on. To recall, the Xiaomi Mi A2 was launched in India at Rs. 16,999 for base 4GB/64GB model and 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage model costs Rs. 19,999. It is available in Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold, and Red colour options. The Xiaomi Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch full-HD+ display, 18:9 aspect ratio, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage.
When Xiaomi rolls out the Android 9 Pie Software update for the Mi A2, one must check its availability on their device. To update the Android version, you have to visit Settings > System updates > Check for Updates.
