The name suggests that it will be a gaming mobile. But already BlackShark sells game oriented mobiles and even the Poco F1 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 too works good for gaming. It has not been made clear till now whether the Play series will be different from its existing performance smartphones.
Xiaomi has not yet disclosed the specifications or prices of the new line-up. As per the rumours, it might be a gaming-centric smartphone and it might also want to compete the Huawei Honor because Honor has a Play series of smartphones.
We have to wait till the company gives any detail of the smartphone. It might also be possible that the Xiaomi is expanding the line-up because there is a craze among the customers of the game-centric smartphones. The line-up includes- Poco F1 which costs RMB 1,999 (Approx Rs 20,000) and the BlackShark Helo which costs RMB 3,199 (approx Rs 32,000).
