ZTE, after revealing its Axon, Axon Elite and Axon Lux earlier this year, is ready to launch a new smartphone Axon Mini. The phone would debut first in China and will be spotted in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Russia, Japan, India, Australia, France, Germany, Turkey, Spain and Italy in the coming months.
The ZTE Axon Mine is the small version of Axon Pro. It boasts a display of 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels. The smartphone is enabled with the pressure sensitive screen which is allowed to use at different levels of pressure for added functionality.
It is powered by octa core Snapdragon 616 processor, which clubs a 3GB of RAM. The device has the native storage of 32GB which is further expandable via MicroSD card slot expansion. The pressure sensitive screen is similar to the 3D Touch display on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. The company is also offering a basketball themed version of the device as part of its partnership with the NBA.
This high end smartphone variant will be available in different designs with extra pre-loaded apps and services. The Axon Mini offers a 13 megapixel rear camera with the phase detection autofocus that allows to focus just in 0.1 seconds and have the 8 megapixel front snapper. The handset features a fingerprint scanner and eye sensor, which are two of the three authentication methods on the device, the third being voice control.
The smartphone will be available in different color variants on the basis of their price tags. The Ion Gold and Chromium Silver color variants would cost CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 23,500), the Rose Gold variant would cost CNY 2,399 (roughly Rs. 24,500). The company also mentioned about a Premium Edition version of the smartphone, which would cost CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs. 27, 600). The ZTE Axon NBA version was also launched by the company.
