Aereo TV Founder Unveils Wireless Internet Provider Starry Internet

Chaitanya Kanojia, the Founder, of Aereo TV, has unveiled a wireless internet service provider, Starry internet, and is slated to launch it soon, so as to bring higher speed internet ISP to the customers at their houses only. Earlier, the company tried their hand with Aereo TV, individual antennas, which could get connected to the users Windows, Unix, and Linux and allowed the people to download and watch TV channels without paying for cable connection. But this project was not successful as some TV cable companies and studios filed some legal complaint against the company. But recently, Kanojia has decided to launch and bring higher speed internet ISP to the customers at their houses only.

Last week in an event organized in New York, Kanojia launched his latest invention, Starry Internet. This project aims to bring you wireless internet at gigabit speed and uses millimeter airwaves.

Now the question arises what is millimeter airwaves? The answer is, these are the radio frequencies which ranges from 30 to 300GHz. The higher the frequency, the higher it will carry data on the distance, but the distance is limited till 1km only. The technology has some drawback also:-
1. If the weather is not good signal may not come, and internet will slow down.
2. Also, airwaves Starry is illegal and unlicensed spectrum which can cause legal issues in the future.
The company needs to establish a lot of infrastructures and setting up of multiple broadcast points and relays in close proximity to users. In the event, a wireless hub was released, which is capable of receiving the signals and building a WiFi connection in your home that you can use. The device is pretty good in designs, i.e. it contains a touch signal which helps you check the signal's health, monitor the online devices and even set usage timers. The Aereo Wireless can be controlled via smartphone using the app.

The wireless hub has been tagged with a price of $349.99 in the US and this Aereo Wireless will be first made available for the people living in Boston and is focused on attracting global attention. The Starry Sation will be made available from February 5th and its shipping will start from the late march. Till now there is no news on the cost which will be incurred to use a network connection, but Kanojia promises that there will be no contracts or data caps. The Aereo wireless internet has created a lot of buzzes and is being proclaimed as a threat for two major Goole products- Google Fiber and Google Glass in the near future.
