Apple Watch 2 Launched Priced at USD 1,250

On the past Wednesday, Apple launched an upgraded model of its smartwatch dubbed as Apple Watch 2 apart from iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at its launching event in San Francisco. The new Apple watch 2 will be available priced starting at USD 369 (Rs 32,900 approx). The shipping of the latest smart device will be done by September 16 while in India at October 7.

Apple watch 2 will be available in 4 variants, Stainless steel case with Hermes strap, Aluminium case with Sportband or Woven Nylon strap, Aluminium case with Nike+ Sportband and Ceramic case with Sportband. This time, the company has not introduced any gold model of the smartwatch, unlike Apple Watch 1 series.

The company has introduced a new Ceramic edition in place of gold edition, which comes in a White Ceramic case along with Cloud Sportband of dimensions 38mm and 42mm and will come priced at USD 1,249 (Rs 83,000 approx) and USD 1,299 (Rs 86,500 approx) respectively. The price of the new ceramic model is far less than the gold edition Apple watch 1 which was launched in past 2014 priced at Rs 9,90,000.

The Stainless steel edition of Apple Watch 2 will be available priced starting at USD 649 (Rs 43,000 approx).

Talking about the specifications, Apple Watch 2 is packed with a lot of improvements as compared with the previous model. The newly launched smartwatch is fueled with a dual-core processor and runs watchOS 3. It is water resistant up to 50 meters and bears an inbuilt GPS as the biggest upgrades made in it.

The smartwatch features an OLED Retina display with Force Touch and is believed to be brighter than the last generation model. It comes with a screen resolution of 272X340 pixels for 38mm model and 312X390 pixels for 42mm model. The Apple Watch 2 features Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n as connectivity options and includes heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, and Ambient Light Sensor on sensor part. The smartwatch is claimed to be backed up by 18 hours of battery life.
