Bluetooth Standard to get Speed Boost and Better Range in 2016

With the leap of technology, the improvements are being experienced day after day. Even with the passage of time, the technology is being overpowered with a newer and advance ones. The replacement of Infrared technology was replaced by Bluetooth. And now, this technology is also going to experience an advancement in its speed and coverage.

According to the sources, the Bluetooth standard is going to get a 100 percent increase in its speed along with the improvement in its range. The devices with new Bluetooth standards are expected to hit the Indian market in the year 2016. The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has stated their thanks to the development of advance chip technology, which has made them capable to do so. To be precisely saying, the second half of 2016 will be blessed with devices with this standard.

But it is being expected that with the increase in range, the devices with such capability will be more prone to security attacks. Talking about the coverage of Bluetooth devices, it will get a range or nearby 50-200 meters. Not only this, the concerned organization also stated that with this, the speed for data transfer will be nearly 2Mbps without any issue related to energy consumption.

If we look out its use in the ongoing scenario, the Internet of Things is going to be benefitted largely with this advancement. In Internet of Things, where all the devices will be interconnected with each other via Bluetooth, will be the prominent point of attraction for security hackers. Kaspersky, one of the security firm has already quoted that the IoT is not mature enough yet.
