Dropbox to Close MailBox and Carousel Apps Early Next Year

It's time to say goodbye to MailBox and Carousel App! As the Dropbox, one of the popular software development companies has officially aired to close its Mailbox and Carousel apps and service in the early 2016. These both will be shut down on different dates as Mailbox will be closed on 26 February, while Carousel goes offline a month later on 31 March 2016. According to the company, they want to give more time to its users to download their images, so that's why it delays the date for Carousel.

In 2013, the Mailbox was acquired by the company for making the mobile email better and Carousel was launched in 2014 to create a new way to experience and share photos. A Mailbox has become a quite popular email client for multiple platforms, but side by side, the company is also seeking for a more streamlined experience.

Initially, MailBox was available on iOS that brought simplicity to what was then a pretty basic Mail app from Apple. And, many users also borrowed this feature from it. Now, coming to the Carousel, this app may be or may not be having a fan following that would totally depend upon how many uses Dropbox to save their photos online.

This app is available with a neat scrollable timeline layout, which Google now also follows in its Photos app, but if you want to use then you have to first log into the Dropbox. After closing down both these, the company still pick up the best bits of these two products and will utilize them in its core offering Dropbox
